The West Virginia Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Environmental Conference on May 21 at the Charleston Marriott Town Center in Charleston, WV.  The Environmental Conference is the most comprehensive, informative and practical seminar on the significant environmental issues that may affect operations and business activities in the state of West Virginia.  The day-long event is well attended by environmental professionals from almost every segment of the regulated community. 

Presenters will include leading experts in environmental law and regulation from the private sector as well as top government regulators and program managers including:

·         Ken Ellison, Director, WVDEP Land Restoration Division, explaining HB-2590, the environmental stewardship bill just passed by the WV Legislature,

·         Jennie Henthorn, President of Henthorn Environmental Services LLC, providing an overview of the impact of the revised criteria for aluminum and beryllium.

Other topics include new permit requirements for storm water associated with construction activities, TSCA reform and the use of AMD waters by the oil and natural gas industry. The conference will also address state specific standards for selenium, a panel presentation on state and federal enforcement initiatives, as well as an update on how West Virginia businesses have done in meeting PM_2.5 standards and how the WVDEP/DAQ will address areas of nonattainment.
